Beverlie E. Ramocan-Woodland/President and Founder
 ABOUT THE PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER:

Beverlie Ramocan-Woodland is a superb people person, skilled in consensus building, diplomacy, and negotiations. She uses her expertise to improve the development and long-term growth of the organization through the proficient use of resources.  Beverlie is currently pursuing a Ph.D. Degree in Public Policy Administration and Nonprofit Leadership and Management at Walden University since 2007. She has a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration and Management.

In 1988 Beverlie became a single parent with four teenage children to raise. In order to effectively monitor her children’s activities after they come home from school, she found it necessary to build a relationship with their friends.  She contacted their parents for approval and made her home a place for homework and social activities.  She had an old Hammond organ that she made available for fun-time while she fixed them snacks.  Beverlie discovered that there were great talents among them such as singing, poetry, oratory classics and dancing. Beverlie became a source of encouragement and a motivator as she mentored the group. Each year she held musical concerts at the nearby community center and exposed their talents to the public.  She said there was a feeling of satisfaction seeing her children and their friends graduated from high school and went on to higher education.

As a result of this endeavor, in 1991 Beverlie founded, incorporated and developed the Talent Exposition Foundation-Project Destiny of Hope into a 501©3 nonprofit youth organization. She initiated the formation of a board of directors and presided over the board; assumed the position of CEO at the recommendation of the board; participated in the decision-making and development of the organization’s bylaws, the program service curriculum, the initial five-year strategic plan, and the estimated operating and service program’s budget.

Beverlie is very passionate about making a difference in the lives of at-risk youths, teens and young adults, and continues to work hard along with her board to meet organizational objectives.
